Got Youth Firesetting Data? The National YFIRES Project
Phil Tammaro, IAFF

The Youth Firesetting Information Repository & Evaluation System (YFIRES) is a national and local case management data collection project initiated to address the significant lack of youth firesetting (YFS) incident data in the United States. YFS experts from the fire service, social services, juvenile justice, medical, mental health and law enforcement communities collaborated to develop this cloud-based database. The two-tier leveled comprehensive database was strategically designed to meet the diverse needs of these different disciplines and YFS intervention programs. Discover how this free tool can assist both existing and new YFS intervention programs with data collection, reporting, and program management. Learn how a subset of anonymous data will be securely submitted to a national repository to provide insight into the YFS issue.
