This presentation will detail how the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District created a program to educate, empower and train the local business community about disaster resiliency. The Emergency Management Coordinator for the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District will share the Business Emergency Response Training (BERT) program created by the Fire District in partnership with their Fire Prevention Bureau. The session will address the process, organization and curriculum created in conjunction with NFPA 1600, Standard on Disaster/Emergency Management and Business Continuity Programs, lessons learned, and ways to implement a similar approach in other local communities.

Breanna Medina, Rancho Cucmamonga Fire Breanna Medina is the Emergency Management Coordinator for the City of Rancho Cucamonga and the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District which serves a combined population of 170,000. She is responsible for all phases of emergency management. Ms. Medina holds a Masters Degree in Leadership and Management, with a concentration in Organizational Development, as well as a Certified Emergency Manager Certificate from the International Association of Emergency Managers. She also serves on the NFPA 1600 and 1616 Technical Committees.
