This presentation will include an in-depth explanation of new Articles in the 2017 NEC covering increasingly popular technologies: Energy Storage Systems, DC Microgrids and Stand Alone Systems. The session will provide a summary of the scopes of each of the new Articles and how they relate to and interact with each other, as well as the impact of these new requirements to Code users. Also addressed will be the future of these technologies, including the challenges facing the Code community in providing safeguards for personnel and property while keeping in step with these technologies as they go forward.
