| Establishing an Electrical Safety Program |

Written electrical safety program plans are often generic and difficult to implement. This presentation will provide specific and practical ideas for how to develop an electrical safety program that is specific and customized for a particular operation and how to build in features that make it easier to implement. Key requirements from NFPA 70, National Electrical Code; NFPA 70E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace, and OSHA Subpart S will be integrated in this approach. The role of safety and health professionals in developing and implementing an electrical safety program will also be addressed.

Niru Dav� is a Risk Control Technical Consultant with Liberty Mutual Insurance. He is a safety professional with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MS in Occupational Safety and Health. Mr. Dav� holds certifications as a Certified Safety Professional and Associate in Risk Management. He has 37 years of experience in the field, 26 years of those in forest products, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical and financial service industries and 11 years in the insurance industry. He has published articles in professional journals and presented papers at professional development conferences. He is a professional member of ASSE and a member of NFPA.
