Case studies from communities in North America, Asia, and South Africa with significant wildfire risk will be used to highlight how automation and thermal technology have been used to detect fires early and mobilize a first response. The presenters will discuss the key learnings from testing and deploying early detection systems in environments with differing terrain, fuel types, ease of accessibility, proximity to human activity and other factors. Attendees will be able to identify the key considerations required when evaluating technologies to protect trees, property and lives.
