Partnering with the Insurance Industry to Mitigate Risk in the WUI
Lucian Deaton, NFPA
Janet Fischer, USAA

This session will explore the partnerships that the NFPA Wildland Fire Operations Division has developed with the Insurance industry to help residents reduce their wildfire risk in the wildland-urban interface (WUI). The Insurance industry can (and does) play an active role in homeowner engagement and recognition to advance preparedness in the WUI--from discounts to policy holders in Firewise Communities, to support for local mitigation efforts. Hear from insurance representatives as key influencers about lessons learned from their positive impact.
