Karen Berard, NFPA
Rebecca Bruening, University of Iowa

Remembering When is a fire and fall prevention program targeting older adults developed by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In 2015, the Fire Protection Research Foundation partnered with the University of Iowa Injury Prevention Research Center to evaluate the program. This session will provide an overview of the findings and discuss the implications. Examples of research-informed adjustments to program materials and delivery will be discussed and NFPA Public Education staff will explain next steps for the Remembering When program.
