NFPA codes and standards address the full spectrum of preparedness, from built-in resiliency in structures and systems, to emergency planning and response. This presentation will review a recently published Guide for the incorporation of resiliency concepts into existing NFPA codes and standards, including an explanation of the role of codes and standards in the promotion of community disaster resiliency, the creation of an NFPA glossary of terms for consistent application, and a framework for the consideration of non-fire events.
